Embedded M2M Solutions - TMCnet Embedded M2M Solutions Week in Review

Embedded M2M Solutions are improving performance, reducing costs and bolstering processes and productivity through direct communication between remote machines and central management systems. Here are TMCnet’s top stories from the industry this week:

Kicking off the week, TMCnet reported that Sprint (News  - Alert) Collaboration Center Partner status has been achieved by Taoglas (News - Alert) USA. M2M manufacturers will now receive help from Taoglas to prepare for Sprint’s over the air or OTA transmit and receive sensitivity also known as TRP/TIS and antenna performance testing.

Company officials said that partners and enterprise customers can work side-by-side at the roll-up-your-sleeves workshop, the Sprint M2M Collaboration Center. Apart from developing commercially viable offerings based on M2M technology, partners and enterprise customers can prepare M2M devices for certification on the Sprint Network. In other embedded M2M news, Cernium, in conjunction with partner Sprint, is at the forefront of solutions that are pushing the envelope on the value video monitoring can play in asset protection and management. Given how fast the market is moving, it seemed like a great time to check back in with the company to find out in more detail on how its CheckVideo solution works, the ease of installation and training, and to look at examples of its application.

Since August of this year when TMCnet last spoke with Phil Robertson, vice president security & alarm division, CheckVideo, the pace of innovation and market acceptance has accelerated. The obvious place to start was with his assessment of the kinds of results customers are seeing with their CheckView implementations. For more on this development, click here.

With integration of M2M into business being considered as a strategic initiative, Wyless (News - Alert), a global M2M managed services provider, entered with Maingate, TMCnet reported. The joint venture was formed to create a collaboration platform to make the most of new market opportunities.

Dan McDuffie (News - Alert), CEO of Wyless, commented on the partnership and said, “This partnership with Maingate (News - Alert) is part of our plans to continue to build the leading “multi-carrier managed services capability” in the M2M market and to work with strategic partners who can give us market leading local connectivity in a highly technical and scalable environment.”

The Maingate service portfolio is built around M2M Connectivity Services, M2M Smart Services and M2H Services while Wyless’ resilient platform provides secure, reliable communications with wireless devices in over 120 countries.
