I would have liked to give it a "no rating" rating, because I can't say how the Drone works IF it works.
Forget using it to stream music from your MacBook Pro, though. Won't get the job done.
You'll hear the stream for a nan-second, then it will collapse and you'll get an alert, telling
you that there's no interface for the new sound card (the Drone).
Checking the callpod website for a driver you'll find out: There is none.
Sure, you may be able to use it for data transfer (but the MacBook is very well equipped for that).
However; it is not an alternative to airtunes. Pity!

Bought this item for my stereo bluetooth headset in order to have plug and play stereo audio connectivity.
And it does work right after you plug it into the computer without any driver installation hassle but unfortunatelly sound quality is not stereo and very bad. It works as stereo dongle too but there is a need in pressing and holding side button in order to switch to regular bluetooth and then you have to wait till drivers are gonna be installed, adding device and pairing process. All that take 10 to 15 minutes to connect it every time you plug it in. Where is plug and play? And after all that it still has mediocre sound quality...

I loved every CallPod Item to date. Haven't really used this yet. I expect it'll do fine.

Works well as long as you're within about 10 feet with no walls between you and the transmitter. It has good sound and can actually be used to listen to music to some extent. One problem though. My brand new Toshiba netbook has crashed a few times, shutting down completely and restarting while using the headphones. It's not bad enough yet to return the item though. I'm going to mess around with it and see if I can get it to work.
It's just a stereo adapter right now but you can download drivers from the website to make it work as a conventional bluetooth adapter for keyboards and such in additional to it's audio function. Haven't tried it yet though.
I use the device with my ALTEC backbeat 903 stereo headset.

I tried other BT adaptor but this was by far the easiest to setup. Just plug in and hit pair. No PIN needed on either side. As for some complaints of range...it does have a short range then others that ive tried. Id say its range is about 15 to 18 feet. But thats not a problem for me and other BT adaptors just didnt work right on my Plantronics 590
